The promo video for SW Lake in Weston states that it is not a numbers lake but has potential for quality. With that in mind and based on my previous experience there, I tried to set realistic expectations for my brother's first PWF experience as my guest. We set a team goal for 9 bass with hopes of at least one over 5lbs. We met our goal with a crappie as a bonus.

The boat was in the water around 7:00, and a 6lber inhaled my topwater prop bait at 7:15. While that was the largest of the day, I also added a couple that were right at 4lbs on the scale. The rest were all under 2lbs.  As the sun came up around mid-morning, we concentrated on the brush piles in deeper water with crankbaits, getting bites here and there.

Overall the day was a good one on the water. The intense heat held off for us, and the quality bites made for an enjoyable trip.
