We had a belated start due to high winds, lightning and rain. We caught about 40 fish by 1PM with a few in the four pound range and we culled about four dinks. All the fish were feisty and healthy. We caught fish all over the lake and the vegetation was not a problem most of the time. We mostly swam soft baits just under the surface, and caught a few on the reliable WHOPPER PLOPPER.
Glen sight-spotted a very large curious bass but we didn’t tangle with any monsters.
The visiting owner was super nice and obliging.
Does the lake need more grass eating carp? Water is a little too clear for me…but don’t want to come across as a complaining old man…love the place!
Next time I’m going to try an 8 or 9” lizard slightly weighted with a tungsten peg.
Got issued a warning ticket on the way home by the highway patrol, but he was more interested in what lures we were using than issuing fines.

Haha on the police – glad you got a warning! The water can be crystal clear, it has been less clear recently and the weeds can be even thicker – the owner added some carp and tilapia which have made it much more manageable as of late. Unassuming lake that almost always produces.
