Fished Allysha Ranch with another member Labor Day morning. We arrived to find that the club boat was right in our way and needed to be moved. Knowing that boats are a snake magnet we moved the boat carefully but instead of a snake two skunks came out and we took off running. The skunks sprayed but missed us however the smell stayed around the area and so did the skunks that went back under the boat. We had to drive the truck to the other side of the tree and carry the kayaks a bit futher to the boat dock.

When we got started we tried frogs with a few blow-ups and no fish. Then flukes and weightless yum dingers  started to produce fish.Wacky worms and texas rigged worms began to be effective.There were some dragon flies but not to many and the bass were not as bunched up along the grass line as they had been. We ended up catching 53 bass and two crappie. 15 of the bass were under 14” and removed with the largest going 3 ½ lbs. 

The vegetation was not a problem and the visibility was around 18”.
