Water temp started around 75 degrees and climbed to 80 degress by the time we docked
Top water bite was non existent in the morning despite multiple blow ups around us. We quickly switched to T-rigged craw style baits and started landing them directly across from the boat house. The bass seemed to be hanging in the veggetation just off the bank for the majority of the morning. We circlced our way back up the dam and fished the SE bank. Majority of the big bass came off the SW bank running up into the first cove. We moved over to the three northern coves and found a few bites but lots of dinks, especially farther up the cove we went. Fished the brushpiles and laydowns with little luck, most of the fish seemed to be relataing to the grass lines. The Zoom Z craw was the most productive bait of the day landing over 50% of the fish. The drop shot was good but landed quite a few dinks. Finesse spinner bait was responisble for the 3 bluegill. Nothing on the jerkbait, lipless, chatterbait, wacky senko or topwater this go round. As we were packing up the bluegill around the boat house started have a fileld day smacking the surface.
The property is amazing with the surrounding hills and the typical hill country vegestation and rocks. We did spot a few deer on the way in which was a welcome surprise. The pontoon boat is definately a huge bonus for this property, we had tons of room for all our gear and it was extremely stable even when the wind picked up. As we were packing up the bluegill around the boat house started have a fileld day smacking the surface. Can’t to get back out to Six O Ranch when the deep water comes into play this summer.

Thanks for the report. Glad you had a day. What is the water level and color like?
