Got on lake about 7 and caught 4 fish from the launch site. But then once in the boat the bite seemed to slow down. Fished around the trees for awhile but never got a bite. Up until lunch time only caught 7 fish. Started to wonder if all the rain had turned the fish off but then had an idea during lunch based on what others had said worked for them at other lakes. Back in the boat to the dam side which the wind was blowing towards it. There a significant weed bank all along the dam that extended about 5 feet into the lake then stopped. Anchored about 15 feet from shore and started fishing along the weed line and thats were the fish were hanging out. By the end of the day 25 more were added to the days catch with only 2 dinks the rest being in the 1 to 2 lb. range. Did catch 2 that felt like 3 lb. Fished green pumpkin senkos all day using several variations (plain, red flake and blue / purple flake).
