Overall nice day at Briar Branch (mid morning until late afternoon)...Caught 9 decent bass, 1-4lb, 2-3lb and 6 between 2-3lb; plus 1 beautiful crappie..Water was pretty clear but with the breeze, managing the trolling motor from vegetation was quite a chore; anchored several times..A bit breezy and the vegetation does surround the entire perimeter but plenty of good areas to fish along vegetation lines. Bank fishing would be difficult...Most productive activity was on the South end just on the vegetation line drifting East to West. Action mostly on jig swimbaits (brown w/ pumpkin trailer), Watermelon red fluke and topwater boorah frog on the vegetation line. Too thick w/ veg on the North side...The stump area off of a center point jetty and area south of that up to the damn was better. Fish were agressive and fun to play with on spinning tackle. I will visit again…..Good Luck !
