It should not have been surprising to me that as soon I saw an opening at 6-0 and booked it, the weather people start talking about a cold front in May. i planned to do a half day pm but with showers forecasted later in the day, I did the morning. As soon as I turned on FM200 it started raining. Get to lake just as it starts to get light. I can see the wind is blowing straight down the lake out of the North at 19 according to the weather app. I start prepping my PA 14 to get it in the water and SURPRISE I left my drive in the garage. i started to just turn around and go home but I decided to throw a black topwater for a while. Second cast BAM! a 3 pounder. Nothing like a violent topwater bite to shake the funk off. Surprise….I caught 6 more over the next hour and half.Since the lake is still low I walked all the way to the dam and caught 18 between the topwater and a green pumpkin 5.5 swimming senko. i had 2 fish break 18lb Sunline. Surprise ...after 7 trips to 6-0 best outing yet, after a front.
Note; met the couple that lives there and they cautioned me about walking the bank because they have cottonmouths, rattlesnake, copperhead, and coral snakes. Maybe because of the cooler weather I didn't have to deal with that…..Thankfully! About half the fish i caught were definitely postspawn.
Love PWF...Love 6-0...I will be back!

Thanks for adding the details on the “trials and tribulations” Alan – definitely adds background to Total Fish/Sizes report!
And I’ve done some bank fishing at Six O – I probably didn’t need to hear about the snakes, haha – but actually it is a good thing to be aware of.
