Fished half day from 7am-noon from the bank with my friend who's a novice fisherman so set him up with spinning gear with 30lb braid and swim jig with keitech 3.8 fat swing impact trailer.  Calm conditions to start so tried whopper plopper but there's too much hydrilla so switched to frog.  Had a couple take frog over lilly pads but quickly moved to swim jig on 17 lb fluoro w MH baitcaster.  Consistently got bit but was a chore to horse them through the thick vegetation. So took my XH frog rod and finished the morning jacking em on 50lb braid and California swim jig with stout hook.  Found a couple large females on beds, the 6lbers came this way but the beds are hidden in hydrilla and not visible from bank. I landed 47 and my buddy landed 25, overall it was an action packed incredible experience.

The property is easy to navigate but sure glad my friend had a 4x4 F150. Only 3 of the 6 ponds produced. Can't wait to get back out to Shady Grove.
