suFellow PWF member Ken Youngblood and I decided to try and beat the forecasted Friday storms and fish under cloudy skies and cool and breezy conditions. Water temp around 63 – 65 degrees and clear for 18 – 24 inches. We fished hard from about 9:30am – 4:30pm with a lunch break and landed 20 LMB with the vast majority being fighters. We mostly found them on the shoreline today and, as a result, every cast resulted in either a bass or grass. Fishing frogs was much more enjoyable than the soft plastics due to the abundance of underwater vegetation but less productive. Malouf seems to have quite a bit of vegetation already, more than last year, unless it’s my imagination. Crankbaits brought in a handful when out on more open water. By 4:30pm, the trolling motor battery had had enough of fighting the wind all day. All in all, a great day on the water and it beat the alternative….working.
Note: The club boat has been patched/sealed. Very minimal leakage. Great job!
