Fished Sandy Creek with fellow member and bud Brett Stalcup and his guest Jack.  We were all fly fishing today and all fishing off of inflatable Bote Rackham paddle boards (see pic).  These are great fishing paddle boards especially for fly fishing.  What a great day!  It was a little cold today but the fishing was on fire we caught something over 80 bass and 3 crappie.  We didn’t catch anything really big but man we hooked and landed a lot of bass today.  Most were cullers but on 4wt and 5wt fly rods those smaller bass are a blast.  All but maybe a dozen of our fish came off of top water flies – mainly deer hair frog flies and bass poppers.  It was over cast all day and the bass were tight to edges of the vegatation.  We caught about a third of the bass in the main lake when you come in and two thirds (in about an hour and a half) in the third lake at the back of the property.  Lots of fun and good to have a big numbers day on the floppy rods.
