Very still early and was hopeful the wind might give us a break. Was not to be though. After about 9:00 the wind began in earnest and increased as the day went on. Could not get bit on ANYTHING moving. Finally found them in 6’-8’ of water on windward rocky shorelines. Everytime we’d go try and get out of the wind the bite fizzled. Back to the wind we’d go. Got a show from a pair of Greater Canadian Geese that buzzed us at about 20’ and landed about 100 yards off, as well as a small flock of Red Heads that would move out of our way whenever we got close and land again upwind a ways off. They all stayed there for the time we were there. Caught a lot of smaller fish. They would bite yamamoto d-shad and 6.5” kut tails and trick worms on a very slow presentation. Was a beautiful day despite the wind and all in all was a successful trip, as they all are when we go to this lake.
