I was out at Decatur Briar Branch staging the boat and signs yesterday for our opening there.  We had a good shock survey so I assumed the fishing would be good; I took some gear along so I could “test” the action if I had time.  In about an hour and a half of fishing from the bank I caught 21 LMB ranging from 1.5-3lbs and only one of them might have been below 14”; all were strong fighters and a lot of fun to catch.  Also caught one slab crappie out towards the middle of the lake.  I only used two lures, chart/white chatterbait with white swimbait trailer and a TX rigged green pumpkin senko, and I just fished the bank on the north side of the lake.  Threw a few casts around the dam but no hits there.  The best action was the wind blown Northeast corner but action was steady around the two points as well.  We’re excited to have this lake in the club and hope you enjoy it!
