My wife and I made our first trip to Sandy Creek Ranch with a cool start and considerable wind. Wondered if this was going to be a bust when the wind gusted pretty strong as we launched the boat, but it was far from it. We landed 52 bass with most in the 15 to 16 inch range with 10 smaller harvested.  The four biggest were 3 lbs. plus with the bigger fish located along the dam. The best thing on this day was having at least a couple of places that are protected from the wind and that had fish also. They hit just about anything you threw at them. Some of the small females that we harvested still had eggs so the spawn hasn’t started here or is still going on in some stage. We saw some beds but no females on them.  Water temp was 60 to 62. The covered boat dock is great for taking a break and eating a bite before getting back at it. Beautiful property and enjoyed the resident eagle doing his thing.
