The wind was howling, and it was cold. I was by myself and I could not get the pond boat in the water. The three nice boats were atop an 8-10 ft. rise. I could have most likely got the boat in the water by just pushing it downhill. But then for one person to get it back up the rise would be difficult. They had a device where you could hook the boat by a rope on a pulley like device, but the rope looked so old and I was afraid, that I did not want to try using it and then not be able to get the boat back to its place atop the rise. Two people could have done it, so if you older and not a big guy, take a friend with you. So, I fished from the dock and walked around the pond. Fish were health, great dark green vegetation. I am not complaining. I just wish I had known more about the boats. Here are some pictures of what I am talking about.

Hey David

I know exactly what you are talking about at Jermar…I have the same problem being a bit older, solo fishing and not quite strong enough to pull that Pelican boat back up the incline. I like fishing JerMar and wanted to solve the problem. You are right, getting the boat down is not a problem…I did not want to rely on the crank contraption you referred to either, so i attached a rope to the front of the pelican and attached the other end to my Jeep and just pulled it up the slope…Try rigging something like that because JerMar needs to be fished with the boat and is a good producing lake. Also, don’t discount the little pond on the North end, several good fish there I’m booked for JerMar this weekend and hopefully the weather holds good and the boat don’t sink.Good luck next trip.
