Decided to let storm pass before getting on the water at 9, fished till 5. Winds we’re fine upon arrival until they forced me off the water at the end of the day. Day started out cloudy, was mostly sunny in the afternoon but the fish kept biting. Water temp rose from 65 to 68 at the end of the day with very clear water. Wasn’t expecting much with post-frontal conditions but was very pleasently surprised. Caught fish on both east and west banks up to 5 to 8 feet of water. All the fish fought hard including the very healthy culls that had nice fat bellies. Floating worm caught the largest by one of the brush piles. Flat-sided carnkbait, chatterbail and large fluke (BassAssassin) and stick worm were all effective. Glad to have Deer Trail back in the fold, was one of my favorite lakes before the dam broke.
