We escaped the grind for an impomptu weekday getaway at Black Hat.  We were welecomed by 4 beavers (I presume) and alot of geese.  We were surprised to see that the upper part of the lake already has substainal vegetation making fishing difficult.  We caught a few small ones shallow up around the islands with small weightless senkos.  As we made our way towards the damn, we were able to start use squarebill crankbaits and texas rigged senkos.  We are surprised to find crappie and ended up catching a few good ones.  We ended up catching 8 crappie and 10 Bass with the two largest being 4.2 and 4.6 lbs.  Overall, a decent day at Black Hat.
