I got out for the first time this year on Sunday with a friend. We are only able to fish for 4.5 hours and the bite was stready from start to finish. We finished with 37 fish and our 5 biggest went 24 lbs. We only caught 9 fish under 16”. Vast majority were 16”-18” with the biggest at 20.5”

The water temp was just 54 degrees and we could not get bit on anything moving. We nearly had to dead stick to get bit. Throw it out 20 yards and spend 5 min dragging a fluke, or paddle tail (Reaction Lures – Skinny Dipper) over limbs through the trees. This lake has a ton of timber. For those who have fished Marshall HomePlace this lake is equaivlant in terms of wood. About 1/3 of the lake is 3 feet or less and we only saw 1 male cruising. All of the fish are still deep.

The rock ramp is new and a bit soft. It will harden over time and big boats will be able to be launched. But right now, I would suggest only boats without an outboard for another 60-90 days allow our members to push the rock down with their trucks and trailers. The all weather road is awesome. Make sure to follow the map once you enter the gate as the road is more than a mile to the lake and there are a few places that you could turn, that won’t take you to the lake.

Almost an exact replica of our Saturday trip. Although about 2/3s of our fish were on chatterbaits, rattletraps and swim bait.  The others were on a trigged zoom speed craw or senior and it was our smaller fish, culls mainly, hitting those. Our bigger fish were on moving baits.
