This was a great day (half day reservation) for the first lake i have fished in the club, becoming a member in  2021.

The owners, Wade and his wife are super friendly.  My strategy unfortuantely was not ideal this day. I went to the smaller lake, first,  beyond the bigger lake, behind the house down a field or two, because of a few reports said there were a few nice ones down there. It did not work for me. I could not find them. I don’t think I had a bite. Maybe just not working for me at first. Fairly shallow water most of the lake (maybe 5-6 feet in some places) and i fished it from the boat launch to the other side, and back. But spent too much time there before changing my thinking . Difficult to  fish somewhat because of lots of  algae, hydrilla etc. on the lure coming in.

Finally came back up to the big lake at the house, and had many bites, and caught some nice ones. Lots of visible activity in this lake! Fished peer and towards the damn.  Just wished i had a little more sunlight left.  By the time i got there, i only bank fished because energy and time were running out. But all in all, a great afternoon at Hickory Creek. Lots of fun.
