John Shepard and I spent the day on Post Oak Monday 12/28. Fishing was slow but to be expected this time of year. We had best luck early on crank baits out in the middle in deeper water. Fishing slowed after a 15 minute rain delay about 10 am until about 4 pm then we started catching a few as we drifted across the dam with drop shots. John picked up a 4.71 beauty by the feeder furthest from the ramp. Total landed was 13 for the day.
Note, there are some pretty big blue gills in there that are very aggressive on the drop shot worm but hard to catch. we managed to catch about 6 of these but had many more bites and would have had a ball catching these on a spinning rod and some crappie jigs, but did not have any crappie jigs with us. Next time!
This tank like so many down south should benefit greatly from the heavy rains that are f'cast to hit Wednesday and Thursday.
