Pam and I fished Bennett on Saturday and enjoyed good, albeit windy, fall weather. Partly cloudy, warm, and windy. Water was about 68F and very, very clear - approx 10ft viz. Could not find the shad and the bass were not chasing at all - and the clear water seemed to have them wary. Finally figured out that they'd only take to something moving fast out of reaction, don't think it was a feeding response at all - hrd jerkbait, z-craw or underspin w/ paddletail almost buzzing the surface. Caught a fish or two around the lake, but this time had the best quality bite on the shallow, western side of the lake. Finished with landing 38 from dinks to 3.4 lbs. Had a blast, enjoyed the seclusion and being on the water!
