Fished Sat Morning 10/3 from 7:30 to 11:30. Wind picked up quick and made it tough to fish. Caught 3 all on different baits all about an hour apart but all from the same stump. The lake was getting full of weeds and made most techniques challenging and the wind made it almost impossible to fish. Gary the owner came out a few times to make sure all was ok and apologize for the weeds and the wind.
The lake is so closed to DFW and the 3 fish I caught were solid, if you want to bring kids out this is a great spot. The boat dock and deck is great to fish from and the perch that the owner hand feeds would be a blast for the kids to catch.

The vegetation begins to die back this time of year and will be much more limited during the cooler months. We have reviewed the procedures to control the vegetation with the owner and we expect the vegetation to be more limited by early Spring. We don't want to completely eliminate the weeds, just reduce them. The ideal amount of vegetation is about 10-20% of the lake. However, this is much harder to achieve than it may seem.
