Took my old man fishing Saturday morning at Nix Ranch Lake TCU. This was my first time to fish this property and I will certainly be back. We fished from around 7 to noon, catching fish pretty consistently. We started with worms, and switched to jigs after the mid-morning bite slowed. The fish only wanted jigs and texas rig worms. The water is in excellent shape--plenty of vegetation for the baitfish and bass to hide. We ended up catching 36 bass, only 5 of which we culled. The average size was over 2.5 pounds, with the largest going 3.98. All fought like hell. The highlight of the day was the owner doing a flyover to say hello. He was flying low and seemingly came out of nowhere. He gave a smile and a wave, then landed in his yard. Dad and I had a good laugh about it. Excellent addition to the club!
