Great fishing day at MK with my 10yo son.   I'd just watched the latest episode of Lake Fork Guy on youtube on jigs so was primarily throwing my 3/4 oz jig.   "When it doubt, jig it out".   I rarely throw stuff that heavy so it was fun trying it differently.   Flat and cool to start and caught a few on edges, including a 4.5lb fighter with a itty bitty popper on 8lb test with the drag set super loose.  Took me 5-7 minutes to get him in the boat.   Hooked a beasty on my jig that stayed on long enough to leap from the water, wave and say "so long sucker!" before shaking the jig off.   I'll be coming back for him.  Temperatures soared quickly and my son went to the car to read his book while I fished.  Didn't realize he turned on the AC full along with everything else without starting the engine.  So battery was dead by the time I got back.   Thankfully you can jump an SUV from a trolling motor battery!
