Got to the lake about 6:00 AM after a short 35 min. drive from home.  Started with a popper on my fly rod with only one hit and no hook up.  Changed to a top water plug and caught a 13 inch bass and a 2.5 lb bass fairly early in the trees on the north west side of the lake.  The wind came up and made the fishing tough.  My weather app said it was 8 mph, but it seemed a lot higher on the lake.  Fished until noon and took a break.  Came back at 6:00 PM and fished to about 8:15. Caught a 2.25 lb crappie on a small u-tail junebug worm fished finesse style just off the SE corner of the dam and caught another 2.5 lb bass on the same worm on the east side of the lake just north of the boat launch site.  

This is the third large crappie I've caught this year on bass lures. One was on a TX rigged lizard and another on a crank bait.  That's a surprise to me, but maybe it's not that unusual.  

All four fish were fat and healthy. Hoped to catch more, but it was still a good day.
