Fished TCU today with my son. Weatherman said it would be windy and windy it was. It blew in the 20's most of the day and we really couldn't paddle our yak and sup effectively so we fished from the bank most of the day. The water was pretty off color with the wind and the rain the night before so pretty challenging conditions. BassForecast had the day rated at 3.9 so we had low expectations But TCU came through - we ended the day with 33 bass - most in the 3 and 4 pound category with only one culler. A white and chartreuse spinnerbait was the top bait today but I caught a few on chartreuse and bubble gum colored Senkos. The fly rod took a whipping today and only managed two nice bass and two bream. Caught fish pretty much all over the lake but the corner by the deer and buffalo statutes was especially good. Had a nice visit with Dub - he is just the best host and always wants to make sure you're catching fish and having fun. His 3 and 4 pounders are gonna grow into mighty monsters soon enough and this place is gonna get even better than it already is. If you want a place you can fish in the wind TCU is it - the whole lake is accessible from the bank.
