Wife, son, and I took advantage of the mild and calm weather and made it out to Trinity Lakes in Covington. The details on the property page and Mr. Maupin's prior report already give all the pertinent and accurate info. We had a great time and landed ~118 bass from a combination of Comanche and Arrowhead; 100 from Comanche from 7AM to 1PM and another 18 from Arrowhead from 3:30 to 5:30 in the afternoon. The fish at Comanche were 12'' to 14'' and went after plastic creatures/Senkos/flukes, spinnerbaits, swimbaits, and Ned rig. The fish at Arrowhead were 2.0 to 2.6 lbs and went after only a plastic high-action creature bait with a small weight pegged about a foot above the bait and a bluegill patterned spinnerbait. Arrowhead was tougher to fish; Pam and my son kind of gave up after a little while - you have to be able to fish the coontail effectively and really try to pinpoint the ruts and gullies in the vegetation. The water at Comanche was 77* with 3' viz - a little murkier at Arrowhead. We did not take the time to fish Goose. This beautiful ranch is a great addition to the club - very thankful for it! And for now I'd say that Comanche is a super place to take a youngster or newer fisherman and let them really get the hang of fishing plastics.

P.S. We took a break at lunch and drove to R&K Cafe II in Grandview - about 20 minutes from Trinity Lakes. I highly recommend it - nothing better than chicken fried steak or bacon/cheddar burger during a "hard" day of bass fishing!
