Fished Escondido on April 7th from 7-3 with an hour break at noon for lunch.  A pattern did emerge and it was a black/chartreuse shallow diving square-bill thrown at smaller standing timber in 4-6 ft of water. 

I caught 5 before noon and 5 after lunch. 

I did lose 3 in top water along the dam early in the morning. I did try chatter bait, various senkos, jig, wacky worm, other color shallow cranks, medium diving cranks. Also I did not get any hits on the larger or deeper standing timbers.

The water level may be down a foot, but no impact on the fishing.
