Fished Yates Place on Wednesday of last week and in my humble opinion this like might be the best lake I have fished this side of the Rio Grande.  The water was a bit stained and the fish were pulled in tight to the cover.  My 14 year old son started the morning off with a 5 lb Pop R fish that gave him a good show.  Things were steady through the morning but after lunch we had a nice visit with Dwayne, the property owner and he was nice enough to give us some large Red Shad colored senkos that really worked well through the afternoon.  We ended the day with 30 or so and our biggest 5 weighed 27 pounds.  The lake is large enough you can easily spend the day and there is a great place to have lunch on the shaded deck overlooking the water.  Andrew and I took advantage of the private 2 bedroom lake house for our lodging.  The place was very clean, and sits right on the water!   We will definitely be back!
