A friend and I fished a half day at Lake Encino just outside of Castroville yesterday with streaks of luck. We had a good bite just after 1:30 and then again at 4:30 with little wind all day. It was a most enjoyable day to be isolated in these times. We caught almost all on either Chartreuse pepper or watermelon centipedes. We only landed 15-18 but missed almost that many too. A third of the fish were in the 3-5 lb range so we were happy. There is plenty of water to fish with your choice of baits. We ended up only culling 4 so fun day!

Alan,
Glad you solid day. Everyone wants to fish Lago Escondido and Leinweber and total forget about Encino. It rarely gets fished. You proved it holds good fish!
