My son and I fished Timber Lake this morning. It was pretty cool until the sun got up with the air temps around 53 most of the morning. Water temp was 57 and visibility was limited maybe 6", the recent precipitation has it stirred up. We couldn't buy a bite on topwater and had the same result with chatter, swimbait, rattle trap, and anything else other than cranks and one kicker on a plastic. I caught my only fish 15 minutes before it was time to pack up dragging a craw through the grass. My son scored the other three. All fish had beautiful color, fat bellies, and fought hard. We found quite a few beds but no fish on them, there were some males that were cruising the area but the big girls either havent moved up yet or moved back out until the temps warm up. All in all time well spent with the son.
