Fished the Backside of the Moon yesterday from noon to dusk. Road in was muddy / under water in places. If you don't have 4x4, would wait a week for it to dry out - this is no place to get stuck…. Launch area is clear / easy to launch. Didn't use the boat, but looked in good shape, was upside down at the launch area. As usual, water was murky, about 6" visibility, water temp 59 degf, warmed to 61, clear skies, slight N wind. Fish weren't in the shallows yet, caught most staging ~2/3 up the lake where the depth drops down to 8'. A lot of fish suspended at 10' in the deeper water, but not feeding. Tried ripping crank baits through them, jigging rattle traps, but no bites. Had a great day here, ended up catching 14, aside from one dink, all were 3-5lb, white but healthy looking. Best baits were a white swim bait, deep cranks at that 8' depth and then a rattle trap. Nothing on carolina rig or jigs. If you haven't fished Bowie, I'd give it a visit. It's different from most of the club waters, always murky water, really remote, difficult to get down to on the ranch road - but the reward is being really away from it all and then some great quality fish. With the water temp at 60 and warming, they are close to moving into the shallows at the north end - could be a lucky angler out there next weekend…. there are some huge fish in this lake
