I wasn't expecting a great fishing day due to the recent cold front and heavy rains but my boys were itching to fish.  We arrived late because it was a cold Friday morning.  When we got to the lake around 11:00am the water level was high due to the recent heavy rains.  The club boat was about 6-feet from the shore in a bout 6-inches of water.  Needless to say I had to pull up the pant legs and wade in the 49-degree water to retrieve the boat.  Once we got going it was a nice day...cool, light winds, sunny.  The water temp was 49-degrees and stained.  Fished for about 5-hours without a single bite.  We threw all that we had in our tackle box.  What I like about this lake is the access.  Easy in and out...plus the size and structure.  Its a beautiful lake.  Can't wait to try it when it warms up!  Although we had a tough day catching fish we had fun.  I got to teach my boys that any day on the lake is better than a day in the office!
