I took advantage of the lack of wind and nice weather on Sunday and fished the less protected East Lake at Twin Lakes. The fish weren't as active as I had hoped, but I managed to wrangle up a few bass from the middle of the lake. I caught one on a chatterbait, one on a shakey head, and the rest on a ned rig. Aside from a couple near the dock, all were caught in the creek channel (about 8 ft deep) in the middle of the lake. There's a moderate amount of cover surrounding the creek channel, which cost me several lures. But the bass were tight lipped and didn't seem to want anything but a ned rig tossed near the brush. I tried various crankbaits, jigs, swimbaits, and soft plastics. Of the 8 I caught, the largest bass went 4.38 on a pbj ned rig, and I would have culled 2-3 if the lake were culling. I also removed one crappie.
