First time at Malouf Lake for me and my son.  We got on the lake about 12:30pm to an overcast, very light rain and breezy day.  Once we got the boat launched we started off in the trees in the middle of the lake to no success.  Since it was our first time on the lake it took us a little time to get our bearings and get that first bite.  We moved further south and began to fish the east bank trying to stay in deeper water.  I say trying because the wind is starting to really pickup by this point.  Caught two or three smaller fish on the east bank and "drifted" toward the dam.  Caught a couple of 2-pounders off the dam in deeper water using square bills.  At this point wind was too much so we opted to walk the banks.  We picked up a handful more walking the bank (mainly the dam and east bank) using spinner baits to stay "weedless" if possible.  Overall we caught 11 total in the 1.5-2.5lbs range, had a great time and cant wait to visit this lake again...maybe on a less windy day!
