Made it to Martins Mill-Lakeside by daylight on Sept. 17th. Fished till 11:30 am. on a pristine fishing day with little wind, good visibility, and water temp at 84 degrees. As has been mentioned in other reports, the lake level is gradually dropping due to the lack of rain in the area which makes launching and loading something of a muddy ordeal. But it's worth it! Caught 7 LMB, which is a low number for this great fishery. However, the size seems to always make up for any deficit when it comes to numbers. The two best weighed 7.6 and 7.2, along with a 5, two 3+ and two 2+ with no culls. The fish I caught were on the east and west sides of the lake, with not even a bite on the north and south ends. The magic bait was a 10" red shad curly tail worm rigged on a large shaky head. One fish hit a green and gold flake senko, with all others on the worm.
