My son and I fished Malouf for the first time today.  The bite was on!  Fished a half day and caught 35.  All but 2 were caught on topwater with most being caught on Whopper Ploppers.  We got rained on several times but the bite kept us on the water.  Best success was on the west side of the lake.  We found several great places where we had a lot of success (especially to the right of the boat launch where some downed trees hang over the water).  When the bite would slow we would leave for a while, come back and the bite would be great again.  About half the fish were a pound or under with the other half being 1.5-2.5.  A couple were around 3 lbs.  The fish tended to be long and skinny but they were feisty. 

My son had the catch of the day with the rare double - 2 fish on 1 cast. Caught them on a spook with one on each of the treble hooks.
