Thanks for your first report. Can you elaborate on water stained with algae? Do you mean the water was green tinged with plankton or perhaps floating mats of algae (AKA filamentous algae). Usually the floating mats of algae are gone this time of year.

Hi Daniel and Steve,

I was out there last week and the water was green tinged with plankton. The lake looked very healthy and shad were jumping all over.  There was none of the slimy stuff.

Thanks Jim. That is what I was hoping. I got a message from Daniel confirming the same thing. I just wanted to make sure we didn’t have a problem. An abundance of aquatic vegetation in small lakes and ponds is almost a universal issue. Just part of the evolving ecosystem.
