Son and I had a good morning at Timber Lake.  Topwater did not produce early, like we'd expected.  We caught most fish along the deeper shorelines once we moved to plastics and in the deeper water along the creek bed with crank baits.  Most of the fish we caught were just under or just over the limit, with several in the 2-3 Lb range.  This lake has a fun variety of structure that holds fish and we'll keep coming back.
