My son and I fished Slaughter Lake yesterday.  We had a good day totaling 10 fish with 3 culls.  Caught a 5 pounder early morning on a Whopper Plopper.  5 on a black teckle sprinker frog, 3 on a Picasso Aaron Martens Shock Blades black and blue chatter bait with a black and blue Strike King Rage swimmer.  All of these were caught in the main lake.  We also fished the small ponds to either side of the main lake.  We didn't catch anything in the pond to the left.  Decided to hit the pond on the right on the way out and caught a 6 pounder on a shad colored Strike King lipless crankbait.  Water levels were high with limited visibility (approximately 3-6").  While it was a good day it could have been a great one but for the wind.  There was a steady 15-20 mph wind out of the SSE that hammered us all day.  The wind blew the boat all over and it was a constant struggle to keep the boat where we wanted to fish.  All the fish were caught along the shoreline with the exception of one in the timber.  The fish in this lake hit hard.  We only lost 1 fish all day ( it saved itself as it would have been a cull) because the fish smashed the bait so hard.  The fish were all fat and healthy including the culls which were all 13" and fat.  Bite was good early on but slowed significantly after 10:00.

The main lake also has some huge channel catfish.  Caught 3 off the boat dock with the biggest at 15 lbs and a second that was 10 lbs.
