The day before rained hard, and while the day we fished was nice, it was flooded.  Water was probably 3-4 feet high that morning.

We fished just the same, topwater early, switched to texas rig for a while, spinner bait, and had some success on white crankbaits.  mid-morning, caught most of the fish all in one spot with sliver rattletrap and white crank bait.  Caught 2 as we were leaving on white bettle spin.  All fish were small, 1lb or so.  May have caught some multiple times :) I just couldn't tell.  Water had dropped about 3-4 feet by noon (!).

We're guessing since the water so muddy due to the storms/flooding, that the sound/vibration was all they could find (5 inches visibility?).  Crankbaits and rattletraps weren't ideal for those weeds (even though we were catching fish), so we tried white spinner bait, texas rig, and even topwater over that area...no bites.  They just seemed to want that rattletrap and crankbiat this morning.

Pretty area, quiet, and someone anticipated our departure and kindly had cleared the cattle from the dirt road out just as we were leaving.  Big thanks, we didn't really even have to wait to leave...very nice of them!  The creeks on entry we were worried about, but they really were not high, and had gravel beds so that worked out just fine.
