Member John Bedore and I had a chance to fish Hickory Creek Ranch on Saturday.  The weather was gorgeous and the fish were active as usual.  When we got to the lake we found the trolling motor had become inoperable so we fished for a couple of hours until the wind picked up and then we drove 55 miles to Lufkin to get a new trolling motor.  When we returned the fish were still biting.

What was different on this trip is that the crappie as well as the bass were biting and we caught a bunch of crappie as well as bass.  The water color was perfect and the weeds have not gotten unmanageable.  We were able to fish the entire big lake without any issues except for the two small pockets.  The Eagles were working to the North of us for most of the day which is always a great site to see.  All in all it was a great day.
