I fished Rock Chimney on the afternoon of the 16th from 1PM till almost 7PM. I had planned to use the new club boat again but the wind (brisk with occasional whitecaps) made me rethink that plan. I can reach most of my favorite spots from the bank with long casts and that's where the bass were, right at the weed/algae line 3-5 feet from the shoreline. Casting obliquely into the wind without back-lashing was a key skill for reaching some spots. The bass were picky. It almost HAD to be a stationary, weightless, wacky stick worm to get a bite. Moving baits, texas-rigged worms, weighted worms, and trick worms only produced a few bass. I ended up landing 26 with most 1.5# to 3#. Fish and water are both in good shape. It was a peaceful afternoon of solitude with nature.
