Third outing in recent weeks and it never fails!! Beautiful weather leading up to the day I choose to fish, then BAM cold Northern front and high wind the day we get on the lake. But I've kept at it and found some fish. Took my stepson to Athens NE on Sunday 31st and we ended up boating 8 (all between 2-4 lbs) and losing another 3-4. The fish are some of the best fighters in the club, my stepson thought for sure he'd topped his 5.5lb PB but turned out to be 3.6lbs that fought like crazy! These fish are beautiful in color and the vegetation is plentiful. Caught all on wacky senkos, swimbaits and a swim jig. Missed a couple to short strikes on a buzzbait and everything else we thru didn't even get a sniff. Overall a great outing despite the chilly weather.
