I fished Triple J this morning, 7:30 to noon. Boated 14, culled 5 and returned 9. Air temp 51 up to 70, surface water temp 51-53 when I started. Partly cloudy, calm until 9 then 8-9 mph SSE wind. Water murky to start, becoming muddy with the wave action with the wind. No surface vegetation but beginning to have filamentous algae 5-15 feet from bank and in the shallows.

I launched at 7:30 and headed straight to the timber in the northwest corner, working my way around the north bank back toward the launch point. Landed several smaller fish on topwater and the crank bait. Wind picked up so I cruised to the southeast corner and drifted back with the wind. I missed one good topwater blow up about half way back to the boat launch.

i decided to move to the north west corner and drift down the timber on the west bank. Bingo. All the large fish came here, close to the timber, on a wacky black/blue flake worm (and I mean 7" and 9"). Both the 4# and both the 3# came from mid way down the west bank, skipping the worm to the tree trunk and letting it fall and sit. In over half the cases, there was no strike, just a retrieve after 30 seconds, think you are hung up and then the line takes off! I just kept circling back and fishing the timber again and again!

This is a great property. Literally 1/4 mile off I 45, the path from the gate to the lake 200 yards and easily handled by a sedan, the club boat a sturdy V hull aluminum Jon and the structure in the pond excellent for bass. Thank you Steve, Cole and PWF for the chance to fish here.
