Took my nephew to fish Waterboo this afternoon.  Trying to squeeze in one last trip this year.  It was a beautiful day.  Saw some deer and heard some turkeys and coyotes.  The lake is full and clear.  Caught 16 on the fly rod and my nephew caught 5 with a spinning rod using senkos.  Most of the fish were under 2 pounds but healthy and will be getting bigger as our culling program starts to pay dividends.  Caught most of the fish just off shore on the edges of the vegetation on the creek end of the lake along the shoreline on the launch side of the lake.  It was a super day and felt lucky to catch so many fish this late in December.  Added bonus was I got to try out my new Bote inflatable paddle board.    It is a fly fisherman’s dream and really stable and easy to stand up on without falling off.  Y’all have a Merry Christmas.
