Made the drive out to East Texas yesterday and fished the East Lake only at Twin Lakes. First, the lake is in great shape; full (going over the outflow), accessible (not muddy, didn't need 4x4), most of the water vegetation has died off, visibility over 2' - plus the fish all looked very healthy; with one exception, all real chunks, no dinks. Didn't use the boat on site, but is upside down by the dock and looked in good shape. Got on the water a little after noon and fished until 5:45. Great E TX fall day, temp in the 50's (dropping to 46 by the end), blue sky, steady 5-10 mph west wind, dropping to calm at day's end. Fishing was interesting, combination of the cold snap and wind had the surface temp at 49 by the dam, but close to 53 in the shallows at the east end, as the wind pushed the surface warmer water down the lake. Made a real difference to the fish - caught nothing deep by the dam or in the channel (tried carolina rigged worms, TX rig, deep crank baits for a couple of hours), nothing around the margins at the west end, but did well in the shallow timber on both sides of the lake (esp. the south side). Caught 11 bass and one crappie in 2 feeding bursts, one around 1pm, and the next around 5pm - not a bite in between. About half the fish came on a twitched free-lined dark green senko, fished really slow into the timber, other half on a gold 3/8 rattle trap 10-20 yds out. Largest two were 5.8 and 5.3, and looked in great shape. Towards the end had a beaver slap his tail by the kayak while I wasn't looking, got the heart rate up a bit. Also saw what looked like an otter coming into the water as the sun went down. Great day to be outside

Nice report.  Love these lakes.  Looks like the 2 feeding bursts coincided with BassForecast minor and major feeding times for that location on the day
