I went to Beaver Lake after work today for a little evening fishing. Arrived about 6 pm and fished until 8:30. Beautiful, cool day with light winds. The water level is low (down about 2 feet or so) and the temperature 87 degrees. The hydrilla is thick and is up to the surface on 30% of the lake, in the rest the top of the vegetation is 1-2 feet below the surface. A good portion of the western end of the lake is mud flats at the moment.

Caught 10 in the 2 1/2 hours, the largest 2.5 lb and all the rest less than a pound each. The usual suspects worked; green pumpkin senko, white chatterbait and, toward dusk, the white buzzbait and the whopper plopper.

And just to make the evening complete, on the drive out I saw 5 deer running across the property.

Glad you got to hit the water, if only for a short time. Sounds like you still did OK for this time of year with that much vegetation. Way to go, Dave!
