A buddy and I fished Timber lake from dawn to dusk. Water temperatures started at 87 and rose to 90 by mid afternoon. Visibility was 1 -2 feet depending on location. It was a near bluebird day and very hot. We caught 30 fish total with only 4 culls. The biggest was right at 3.5#. We started at the ramp and trolled in a clockwise direction, covering nearly all of the lake. The majority of the fish were caught in 6-8 feet of water at or near the mouths of the two arms. The fishing was very slow until late in the afternoon when they finally turned on along the dam and in the deeper water. Half of the 30 were caught on a green pumpkin chatterbait with an orange Zako trailer. The rest were picked up on a variety of worms, flukes, lizards, crankbaits in all different colors. There didnt seem to be one color they would hit - I would catch one fish on every thing I tied on and then nothing more. The vegetation is getting pretty thick in both arms of the lake. We spent quite a bit of time trying to pull fish out it but we had much more success in the open water.
