Fished Waterboo Lake today from 12:30 to 7:00. Great to see this lake in the club. Back in the days of the "Great Texas Bass Club" (Privatewater predecessor), the lake was available, but was then called Valley Tank. Made my first ever club trip there back in 1999, lake was also the last place I had the opportunity to fish with my father before he passed away - so was quite nostalgic to be back there. Not sure why, but the lake became unavailable to the club back around '03, so great to see it back! Was always one of my favorite sites, for the scenery and solitude. This really is a pretty spot.
Cold front came through the night before my trip, but still caught good numbers. Caught 38, culled 24 (sounds like between the past 3 reports, we have culled close to 100…. so should hopefully start making a positive impact soon). Caught about half on freelined senkos, third on topwater (once the sun was off the surface) and the rest on TX rig and crank baits in the channel. Didn't catch any fish over about a 1.5 lb. Weather was cool at first with a north wind, warmed up to the low 60's. Wonderful day to be outside
Met the owner on the way out and had the chance to thank him for the opportunity to spend time on his property
