Fished the new property close to Decatur today.  First what a beautiful place and a great little lake.  This would be a really good lake for new fishermen or kids and I’m sure there are some lunkers in there somewhere for those looking for the big uns.    I fished all day with my 5wt fly rod and caught 51 bass (most ever for me on the fly rod at a PW lake) - most were single pounders but they were healthy and fought hard on the fly rod.  Fished with wooly buggers, Clousers and poppers - everything seemed to work.  I only fished about 40% of the lake fishing from the bank.  I was catching so well from the bank I never even put my kayak in the water.  Culled over 30 so not too many big ones today but based on another report I read for this property there are some big ones swimming around in there somewhere.   The property and lake are really pretty and we’re lucky to have this property in the club.  Thanks to Steve and Private Waters for adding this great property to our club.

Great report, Kevin. I second everything you said as I fished Waterboo on Saturday afternoon. This lake is absolutely LOADED with bass. I love the setting of the lake down in the valley.  Not surprised you had a great time.  Excellent addition to PWF!

Thanks for the report guys. Catch rates will diminish significantly as we harvest. The lake is loaded with 12 to 16 inch fish. Our goal is to push these fish from this size to 16 to 18 inch fish. More The difference between a 12” and a 17” fish is more than triple in weight. It will take at least two years to accomplish. So, in the meantime, enjoy this great numbers lake. We want to remove 400 to 500 bass this year.
